Mark Masinter, who founded Open Realty Advisors in 1987, co-leads Open Realty Advisors and Open-Rebees. A graduate of Southern Methodist University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, Mark leads Open Realty’s investment endeavors, development activities and new business generation. He was a founding investor in Restoration Hardware and a founding partner of Retail and Restaurant Growth Capital, an SBIC lending fund focused on growing retail and restaurant ventures.

Tristan Simon founded and leads Rebees and co-leads Open-Rebees. Tristan grew up in Virginia, graduated from Duke University, and moved to Dallas in 1996. Prior to starting Rebees in 2014, Tristan founded and led Consilient, a restaurant and hotel management company best known for creating numerous acclaimed dining and entertainment brands in Dallas, Fort Worth, Los Angeles and Atlanta. In addition, Tristan is widely credited with transforming Henderson Avenue in Dallas from a benighted neighborhood into a vibrant dining and retail district.

Johnny Siegel, a principal of Open-Rebees, co-leads Open Realty Advisors and leads its tenant advisory business. Responsible for over three billion dollars worth of leases, Johnny has managed the early growth phases for Restoration Hardware, J.Crew, and Apple, taking Apple from zero stores to over 250 domestically and through its first ten stores in China and Hong Kong. Johnny is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and holds a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from The University of Texas School of Law.

Taryn Anderson, a principal of Rebees and Open-Rebees, leads brick-and-mortar operations for Rebees and food and beverage consulting for Open-Rebees. Shortly after graduating from the University of Minnesota in 1999, Taryn joined the management ranks at Consilient, helping propel the Dallas-based hospitality company from a single restaurant into an acclaimed consortium of dining brands in multiple states. After holding a variety of operational posts, Taryn became Consilient’s Vice President of Operations prior to joining Rebees in 2015.

Steve Merkle, a principal of Open Realty Advisors and Open-Rebees, graduated from Southern Methodist University and holds an MBA from The University of Houston. Steve has led Open Realty’s consulting for J.Crew since 2005, opening over 250 stores and managing the initial and early growth of the Madewell concept. He also led consulting for The Walking Company, Nambé and Babystyle, and played an integral role in the site selection, market analysis, and lease negotiation for Apple, Restoration Hardware, L’Occitane and Oakley. Steve has negotiated transactions in all markets with all major landlords, providing financial analysis and pro forma modeling for client growth and investment strategies.

FRAN MAYO

Fran Mayo leads brand building and technology for Rebees and Open-Rebees. Raised all over the world – including in France, Australia, Japan, Singapore, and China – she majored in Urban Studies (with a concentration in economics) at Columbia University's Barnard College. After graduating in 2015, she moved to Detroit as part of an entrepreneurship fellowship called Venture for America, working briefly in tech before finding her true calling in creative place-making at Rebees and Open-Rebees.

Drew Downs leads asset management for Open Realty Advisors and project management for Open-Rebees. Drew is involved in all aspects of the firm’s landlord advisory business, with a focus on projects in Dallas, Houston and Atlanta. He also assists with various aspects of the tenant advisory business, working primarily with Restoration Hardware, Consilient Restaurants, Sprinkles Cupcakes and Brooklyn Bowl. Drew received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Virginia.

Leslie Brenner leads food & beverage programming, marketing, and media for Rebees and Open-Rebees. The Los Angeles native brings to Open-Rebees three decades of experience as a journalist, cook and author. Leslie studied English at Stanford, then earned an MFA in Fiction Writing from Columbia University before going on to lead *The Los Angeles Times* Food section as its editor. She has garnered dozens of prizes, including two James Beard Awards. Before joining Rebees in 2017 she was restaurant critic at *The Dallas Morning News*.

Dave Bennion leads business and financial operations for Open-Rebees and loves applying his talents to the development of vibrant, resilient and sustainable places. Dave studied International Relations at Stanford, where he also played basketball, and earned his MBA at BYU. Following college, Dave spent five years leading entitlements and masterplan development efforts in California for Woodside Group. In 2008, he joined Greenfield Partners — a private equity real estate investment firm — where he became a partner sourcing and underwriting acquisition opportunities and overseeing portfolio assets across the spectrum of real estate uses. Dave joined the Open-Rebees team in 2017.
